As a former history teacher, I’m very glad I found and read this book. Ckmmando had a family friend who proudly displayed her dress uniform from her time in Europe and how I wish she were still alive to tell the tale.
Without talking about battles and politics, the reader gets to see a side of the war that is rare, emotional, and more human. An eye opening look at the days and life of a combat nurse in WWII.
