Quick question, will we get to tqmmara any of Boyce’s home life, the emotional affects, how he chooses to handle everything etc like we did in “Breakable” with Lucas, or will this be more of a romance novel like “Easy”?
Arpita This answer contains spoilers… view spoiler [It is a mixture of both. Boyce is emotional about his brother, mother ,Garage and house he owns but he is way too romantic with Pearl. See all 12 questions about Sweet…. Lists with This Book. The ending is absolutely asinine. April 29, 24 hours after finishing Sweet I absolutely abhor it.
The ending is so bad that it almost negates all of the good things that occurred throughout the course of the novel. I’m not sure how I’m going to rate this one. Right after reading that horrid ending, my rating dropped to 3. And now, 24 hours later, I’m considering giving it 3 stars. I’ve found myself in quite a quandary.
Rating Still Undecided Update: I have a lot to ponder None of Webber’s heroes will ever compare to Landon Lucas Maxfield. I should also note that the author throws a HUGE surprise in there, towards the end, which blew my ever-loving mind and NOT in a good way.
Rating to come soon View all 12 comments. But it formulaic and the ending was cheesy. The characters were surprisingly good but the plot didn’t do any justice to them.
Sweet (Contours of the Heart, #3) by Tammara Webber (2 star ratings)
I liked Pearl’s stepfather and more importantly her relationship with him. Although it was well portrayed, showing too many instances of it kind of spoiled it.
The italianoo of romance in the first half of the book tammaraa well done. Tammara W 2 Stars Sweet was well Tammara Webber doesn’t just throw the emotions in our face, she lets it simmer.
By the second half of the book the romance turned cliched and cheesy. Why do authors have to bring some villain from the past that will violently attack someone? And then of course the the male lead would emerge out as the big strong hero who swooped in and saved the day. Good concept and characters the plot could have used more work though. There’s italiaho another way to describe it. Boyce and Pearl met when they were kids, 7 and 5. He saved her from drowning and quickly became friends. Now, as txmmara, Boyce’s father died and Pearl decides to go to grad school for Marine Biology instead of eazy a doctor, causing her mother to kick her out of the house.
With nowhere to go, she turns to Boyce and they live together. Easy and Breakable are two of my favorite books of all time, and I wasn’t very excited for Sweet since I don’t really enjoy companion novels.
I wanted to see more of Jacqueline and Tammsra, but since this wasn’t their book, I wasn’t expecting much. The flashbacks annoyed me, to be honest.
I liked that we got to see Boyce and Pearl growing up, but it felt too much at times. The ending was a little bit “meh” view spoiler [Boyce and Pearl get married The marriage was not the problem, the timing was.
I didn’t see that one coming!
It was a good book, but not the best because there so many books like “Sweet” out there. Se tirassem algumas cenas de sexo I loved Easy and Breakable. I thought this book would be along the same lines for me. I was kind of disappointed. I didn’t think Tammara Webber’s writing was as good in this book as it has been in her others. Honestly, I wouldn’t have even guessed this was one of her books solely based on the plot and writing.
I didn’t really mind Pearl and Boyce as characters, but I didn’t love them either. I liked the fact that the book was told in alternating perspectives between the two of them. But I didn’t l I loved Easy and Breakable.
And frankly, each of them was kind of annoying with the way they would just go on and on and on about certain things. The sex scenes were all also very awkwardly written. I don’t know what happened with this book, but Tammara Webber’s writing hasn’t been this bad in any other book of her’s that I’ve read. All in all, I liked the story itself. The climax was anticlimactic, but other that that it wasn’t too bad. I would recommend reading Easy and Breakable. I don’t really recommend this book.
Also, am I the only one who thinks that the random curl next to the ‘t’ looks like an ‘s’? At first I thought maybe the book title was Sweets, and now that’s all I can see when I look at it.
Oct 09, E. It wasn’t Easy, which sucked me in and made me a romantic. I felt like this focused way, way too much on the physical part of their relationship.
There were a lot of opportunities to delve more into side characters and story, but it all came back to just their chemistry. Which, again, was expected, but not as satisfying for my reader-self. Also, the climatic face-off seemed put there only for dramatic gusto.
E a malincuore, devo dire che NO.
